Thrillers
The Last Mrs. Parrish by Liv Constantine – Amber befriends Daphne to get close to Daphne’s husband, Jackson. Jackson is a wealthy real-estate mogul who could provide the life Amber dreams of. A few plot twists caught me off guard.
Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter – I listened to this on Audible. Two sisters are reunited after the death of a spouse. Together they try to uncover the details of their sister who disappeared 20 years ago. Shocking discoveries and plot twists until the end.
It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover – This is my second read by Colleen Hoover. Lily develops feelings for Ryle, a handsome surgeon with a strict no-dating rule. Lily eventually becomes the exception to his rule. As she begins questioning her relationship, Lily can’t stop thinking about Atlas, her true first love.
None of This is True by Lisa Jewell – I listened to this on Libro.fm. which was narrated by an entire cast. Alix and Josie cross paths on their 45th birthday and eventually become friends. Over time things start to get weird between them and Alix finds herself the subject of her own true-crime podcast. This might be my favorite read!
The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave – I watched this on Apple TV after reading the book. It was just okay for me. After a year of marriage, Owen slips Hannah a note that reads, “Protect her” and disappears. The note referred to Owen’s daughter, Hannah’s step-daughter, Bailey. As time passes, Hannah realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was.
Romance
The Wish by Nicholas Sparks – Two teenagers become close when Maggie moves to Ocracoke to live with her aunt to hide her pregnancy from her home town. Bryce teaches Maggie about photography. Maggie becomes a travel photographer with a gallery in New York. Everything is going well until she receives an unexpected diagnosis.
The Summer of the Songbirds by Kristy Woodson – Friends reunite to save the summer camp where they spent their summers. This is a story about personal tragedy, love, and friendship.
Other
Cool Flowers by Lisa Mason Ziegler – This book is an easy-to-read guide to growing cut flowers. Lots of great tips!
Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing – I read this following the death of Matthew Perry. He details his childhood, events that possibly led to his addiction, and the years of suffering. This was hard to read at times.
