Now that summer seems to be in full swing, I thought it would be a great time to share my favorite summer beauty essentials with you all. Ever since my melanoma scare, I am super careful about limiting my sun exposure. I’m sharing the sunscreen products I use along with products that hydrate my skin. Scroll down to read all about them.
Neutrogena hydro boost – This sunscreen product for the face has been my go-to for several years now. It has hyaluronic acid to plump the skin along with SPF 50. It applies easily and doesn’t feel at all heavy. Makeup can be worn right over top.
hair ties – These are my favorite! Not a skin care product, but ponytails are a must for me when it’s hot. They stay in place, but don’t pull when I take them out.
laneige lip sleeping mask – I apply this every night at bedtime and wake up with hydrated lips.
Am Lactin foot repair – Gently exfoliates to keep feet extra soft.
coconut body oil – Apply after a shower for hydrated glowing skin.
Olaplex no.9 – This hair serum protects hair not only from heat styling but also from environmental pollutants. I also use this shampoo. A bit pricey, but a little of both goes a long way!
ELF bronzer palette – I love to use bronzer to add a sun-kissed touch. I usually just swirl the brush through all of the colors and swipe around my cheekbones and down my nose.
Elta MD tinted sunscreen – I first tried this tinted sunscreen from a sample that my dermatologist gave me. I use it when I know I’m going to be outside all day. It’s light and clean feeling – not at all sticky or heavy. And gives just a touch of color.
shea sugar scrub – A great inexpensive exfoliator. I use this before applying self-tanner.
St. Tropez self-tanner – Since I’m no longer in the sun “tanning”, I’ve been using this tanner about once a week. It adds a bit of natural-looking color which makes me feel better. I use this mitt to apply it.
Sun Bum sunscreen – I have tried using all sorts of mineral-based sunscreens and they make me look like a ghost. My dermatologist assured me that the other sunscreens work just as well so I started using Sun Bum.
