I’ve always had a weakness for baskets. I love to use them in the garden and in our home. The idea of a designated basket room has always appealed to me. Bunny Mellon’s basket house serves as the perfect inspiration. Her basket house was built in 1971 to house an impressive collection. You can read more about the house and the history of baskets here. Another way to incorporate a collection of baskets: hang a grouping from the ceiling in a mudroom or potting shed. The texture they add to any space would add warmth and interest – form and function. Thank you for this post, Rene. I lived in Missouri and then Tennessee for a number of years where I accumulated a collection of wonderful old baskets that I continue to enjoy.
