Now that summer is officially here, I thought it would be a good time to share a few pictures of our summer living room. Even though very few changes have been made, the lighting and shadows are so different with each season. This room is the first one you see upon entering our house. It’s where I like to stretch out and read or visit when guests come over. There’s no t.v. in here which is a good thing.
I love being able to go outside and cut a bouquet of flowers! I try to keep a fresh arrangement on the coffee table year-round, whether it’s a branch or bouquet from the yard or something from Trader Joe’s. It makes me happy to walk in and see a pretty arrangement and it’s a great way to add a little color to a somewhat neutral space.
It’s so nice to see the flowers from the front window boxes through the windows. The splash of pink is a fun backdrop to the moss covered balls.
I felt like the mantle needed something more than just the topiary, so I added a couple of blue and white jars and propped a watercolor painting against the mirror.
You can see the little sitting area just beyond the living room. My office/sunroom is through the opening to the left.
A few detail shots…

You should center you couch under your window.
Your rug and other items will have adjusted too
Otherwise perfecto!
Color flow extremely rested and eye candy

Thanks so much! Believe me, I would do this if there was enough floor space. I prefer for things to be centered but if I centered the couch on the window, you would not be able to comfortably walk through the room which is necessary to get to other parts of our home.
