I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was full, exhausting, and wonderful all at once. Sunday, we settled our son into his new house for the upcoming semester. The house is charming and his roommates are friends who go way back. This should be a fun year for them!
I’ve been doing some research for our staircase now that the upstairs floors are white and the downstairs floors are stained dark. Mainly, I was wondering how to transition between the two. For now, my plan is to paint the stairs white and install a seagrass or sisal stair runner. The staircase itself is fairly dark because it doesn’t receive much natural light and I believe this will be the brightest, cleanest option. Also, the stairs don’t receive nearly as much traffic now that we are empty nesters. So I think seagrass will handle the small amount of foot traffic it will receive. I’m excited about the change and have gathered some inspiration that I hope you will enjoy.
