White ship lap, butcher block countertops, open shelving, blue and white…are you salivating yet…or is it just me? Somehow I missed this gorgeous kitchen from the November issue of Country Living mag, but when I stumbled upon it the other day, I did a double take. Good design is always about balance and this kitchen hit the sweet spot with its warm wood tones, mixed metals, and blue and white collection. In order to fully appreciate how far this space has come, pop over here to see the before images before walls were knocked down and white paint came to the rescue. Enjoy!

Perfect timing! My husband and I are planning a DIY butcher block kitchen counter install very soon. This post captures my vision. I had planned some sort of stone countertops to replace our 15 year old "temporary " counters, but while looking at kitchens online for inspiration, I kept seeing butcher block and all of a sudden it clicked, wood is perfect. My husband is very handy, and my adult sons will help us. I sort of think butcher block is becoming a trend. I also love the blue white of this kitchen also.
