We used MDF for the vertical pieces that we had cut into strips at the hardware store. The rest is wood. We played around with the layout until we found a scenario that looked right to us. It was an easy project, but it overlapped weekends because that’s the only time we have to work on projects like this.
I also wanted to add hooks instead of the traditional towel bar that was there. I like them much better!
The medicine cabinet was replaced with a pivot mirror that is much larger than the mirror that was there. When it comes to mirrors, go big!
During the process, we took the door off so we had enough room to work. Having the door off made the room feel twice as big so we’ve decided to leave it off and add a sliding barn door. We haven’t started working on it yet, but I will be sharing pictures on instagram once we do. Can’t wait!

Your board and batten looks like a professional job. I'm impressed as I want to add it to my home, but I'm afraid it will look like a third grader did it. Can't wait to see how you build the barn door.
René says
Thank you! I'm guilty of the third grader projects as well. 🙂
