Today I’m sharing another adventure from our trip to the Amalfi Coast. We ALL agreed that cooking class was one of the best things we did. We’re all foodies and what a thrill to learn to cook Italian food from the best! We popped into Le Bontà del Capo in Conca dei Marini and were warmly greeted by Chef Fiore. We were served fresh pastries and cappuccinos. Bread was rising in the window and just beyond it was the always beautiful Tyrrhenian Sea. I mean, how could you ever have a bad day if this is your view?! We immediately learned how to load the oven with bread. There’s a correct way to do it, and I wasn’t very good at it, lol! (You may have seen my awkward insta-story.) We also made fresh pasta, a seafood dish, fish, lemoncello, and tiramisu. After the work was done, we got enjoy the fruits of our labor. We feasted! Everything was delicious and the food in Italy (maybe because it is so fresh, no preservatives, etc) never leaves you feeling full – just really satisfied. We enjoyed our experience so much that we went back for dinner the following night.
R made a drone video the next night when we went back for dinner. It’s so fun to see the friendly staff along with Chef Fiore and his lovely wife. I can’t say enough great things about our time there. You can also see how every bit of land is used. Above the restaurant is a soccer field – notice the curious children :). And above that are terraced gardens tucked in between homes.
