I’ve been simplifying things around our house now that spring is here. A while back, I added shades to our bedroom and removed the curtains on both windows. As time went on, I began to miss the curtains behind the bed because they had provided such a nice backdrop to the headboard. The other day I decided to hang the curtains again and instantly loved the difference it made. I’m so glad I held onto them. The art that had been hanging above each of the night stands began to feel too busy for this space so I took both prints down. I’m sure they will come in handy in another room. Also, I moved the coral pillows to my office and for now am sticking with shades of blue in the bedroom. The space feels so calm now, less busy, and definitely more relaxing. Sometimes, less is more.

Yes, I agree. Sometimes less is more. And it is still possible to create a layering effect with monochromatic items and textures and so on rather than with contrasting colors. Your bedroom is so serene.

It looks lovely, really. Isn't it amazing how just a bit of editing and tweaking can breath new life into a space? Have a great Easter weekend.
