I always enjoy reading about what works for others and rely on reviews and recommendations when it comes to beauty and skin care. I’ve tried a few new things lately that I want to share with you today. Have you found any fun new products? Please let me know in the comment section below.
Garnier micellar cleansing water. I use this to remove makeup before I wash my face. I saturate 2 cotton balls and place them over my eyes for a few seconds. Mascara comes easily without rubbing. I use the back side of the cotton balls to remove makeup from the rest of my face. Now I know why everyone raves about it. You can find micellar water in the grocery store or target.
Shiseido perfect cleansing oil. I’ve heard great things about cleansing oil, but had never tried one until I received this in my January Birch Box. I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks and really like it. The smell is amazing too! I pump a small amount into my hand, rub it into both hands, and gently wash my face with the oil. I then rinse with water and a warm washcloth (but you could skip that step). I will be buying more as soon as my sample runs out. P.S. I think this is a great product for any age, but is especially great for mature skin and winter skin.
Wilma Schumann hydrating collagen eye pads. These pads weren’t on my radar until I received them from Birch Box ( a fun way to try new things, by the way). They only sent enough for a one time use, but I’d definitely like to try more. My under eye area looked rested and more hydrated when I removed the pads.
Aveda damage remedy daily hair repair. I haven’t exactly used it daily since I only wash my hair twice a week, but I have used it consistently since late December and notice fewer broken hairs when I flat iron my hair. My hair also feels smooth and softer now. Aveda products smell so good too.
Nailtiques. After about five straight months of wearing SNS on my nails it was time to go back to natural. Yikes! My nails are in recovery now. I’m taking biotin, massaging cuticle oil into my nails each night, and using Nailtiques as instructed. They are growing and improving, but it will take time. Do you have any recommendations?
e.l.f. instant brow lift pencil. I’ve been spending waaaayy to much on eyebrow shadows and pencils! Y’all, this is only $2. Grab one next time you’re in target (or Walmart). I’m using taupe and the color is perfect for me. Not too dark, not too light.
Milk Makeup highlighter. This is a handy little stick that you can use anywhere you want to glow. I prefer to use it on date night across the tops of my cheeks for a dewy look.

I use Burt's Bees facial cleansing oil to remove makeup, then wash with CeraVe hydrating cleanser.

Love the Cerave cleanser. That's what I use in the shower when I wash my face. I'll have to check into the Burt's Bees oil. Thank you.

I have used Jeffrey James products for the last couple of years. I was able to purchase them for much reduced at TJ Maxx. However, I never find them there now. So I am thinking about searaching for something else. The J2 products are all 100% natural and non-toxic so I want something comparable. I may be able to find them, though, on Amazon but haven't researched that yet. Also, I used to use a Maybelline eyebrow pencil that was a charcoal grey and was just the right color for me with my salt and pepper grey hair. Now I can never find that color. I think they have stopped making it and I haven't been able to find anything as perfect colorwise that I can afford. I did find one brand that was $35. per pencil!! Not in my budget! So, if anyone knows a brand of eyebrow pencil that makes a grey or light charcoal color, I'd love to know about it.

Naomi, you may want to look into Bobbi Brown cosmetics. I use an eye shadow on my brows. Her line of eye shadow has a lot of colors, and the quality is excellent.

Yes, I agree with Claudia. I used BB eye shadow on my brows before switching to the e.l.f. pencil.
