I’m a big believer in eating a healthy breakfast. I splurge a little on the weekends, but during the week I stick to a nutritious high fiber breakfast. Having all the ingredients on hand helps me stick to a healthy plan. Below are three recipes I enjoy all week long. The first recipe was adapted from The F-Factor Diet, a book I recommend if you are looking for healthy weight loss tips. The other two are from Maria Marlowe. I tried her cleanse diet last week and will do it again soon. It gave me the jump start I needed after a week’s worth of overindulging at the beach. Maria is very good about sharing the nutritional details about each ingredient. All three recipes are not only delicious and easy to prepare, but they also “stick with me” until lunch without feeling the need to snack.
What I Eat For Breakfast
Berry Parfait
1/2 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
1/2 Kellogg’s All Bran Buds (13 grams of fiber!)
1 cup berries
drizzle with agave nectar
Mango Breakfast Bowl
1 mango, diced
1/2 avocado
1/4 water
2 tbsp. raw unsalted pumpkin seeds
1/2 banana sliced
Set aside 1/4 cup mango. Place the rest of mango along with avocado and water blender. Blend on high speed until smooth, about 30 seconds. Pour into a bowl.
Top with mango, banana, and pumpkin seeds.
Dr. Green Smoothie
1-2 cups baby kale or baby spinach
1 small/medium avocado
1 banana (freeze it ahead of time)
1 pear, cored & chopped
3 tbsp. hemp seed
2 tsp. fresh squeezed lime juice
1/2 tsp. fresh ginger, peeled & minced
1 cup water
Blend all ingredients in a blender on high until smooth and creamy.
We use a Ninja blender and love it! My entire family is hooked on smoothies and the single serve cups with to-go lids are super handy.

These look delicious! I fell into some bad eating habits over the summer so I need to get back on track. I used to be able to eat what I wanted but these last couple of years, my metabolism isn't what it used to be! Your blog looks great by the way!

These all look delicious, I cannot deny breakfast is my favourite meal of the day, but despite living in France and the children loving the croissants and pain au chocolat, they do not tempt me at all. I stick to the same routine day in day out, fresh fruit, whether it be figs (we have a garden full of them right now) or plums or cherries or Persimmons, whatever we have, then a full fat natural unsweetened natural yoghurt topped with chia seeds, a glass of orange juice and then a slice of wholemeal bread. Occasionally I will have a bowl of porridge instead of hte yoghurt it it is a really cold winter's day. It works well for me and sets me up for the day ahead.
