Since we’re all still very much in summer mode, I thought it best to take a look at some pretty outdoor gardens. The Lutyens bench, whether painted or left natural, is one of my favorite additions to any garden. The curves of the bench add interest and help to soften lines of a formal garden while adding structure to informal gardens. Let’s take a look…

The bench is extremely elegant and classical, reminiscent of many old English gardens. Of course the gardens would have been designed by Gertrude Jekyll, who Lutyens teamed up with, together they designed many country houses and their grounds.
