This summer my mornings consist of early walks and lots of time in the garden. As much as I enjoy blogging I’ve been embracing time away from the computer to the fullest. Gardening is one of the most rewarding hobbies. Planting and nurturing a living object and watching it grow is an amazing experience to me. It takes a lot of trial and error – sometimes things work and sometimes they don’t for whatever reason. Lucky for us we’ve had a good bit of rain since we planted our front yard garden and installed our cobblestone sidewalk almost a year ago. Everything is well established (growing like crazy) and green. A couple of gardening tips: 1) Amend the soil before you plant. 2) Add osmocote, a slow release fertilizer, each time you plant a new plant. It lasts 3 months and never burns. 2) I spray all of the new plants, flowering plants, and vegetable garden once a week with Miracle Grow and this feeder that easily attaches to the garden hose. I believe those things have made the biggest difference in the health of the plants. Do you have any gardening tips?
