The BISSELL PowerForce Helix retails for under $50 so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Sometimes you get what you pay for, but this time I’ve really been surprised by the quality. The powerful suction is quite impressive – so much so that the tank filled with dirt even when the floors were supposedly clean.
The rotating brush removes deep embedded dirt and hair and larger particles of dirt are forced to the bottom of the tank so that the filter is able to work without getting backed up. The best part is that I don’t have to buy replacement bags anymore. The tank can be emptied and the filter is washable. Read all about it here.
I found it a little disturbing to see how much dirt was in the tank while at the same time thankful to know it was no longer in our rug after a couple of passes with the BISSELL.
Being able to vacuum draperies is a must because they can get really dusty in no time, especially following pollen season. The attachment makes this a breeze removing all dust and debris leaving behind fresh, clean curtains.
I also give windows, baseboards, and ceiling fans a good pass to remove dust and other debris that settles there. The attachments are easily accessible on the outside of the vacuum cleaner which makes changing tasks super easy.
The little crevice tool is perfect for tiny spaces where crumbs can accumulate and for getting to those hard to reach spots under the fridge and oven.
Reagan wasn’t sure what to think of the new noise in the house, but gave lots of kisses once the job was finished.
BISSELL is giving away five vacuums. Do you have a spring/summer cleaning tip or are you preparing for a big event at your house? Leave it in the comments section to be entered to win a new vacuum cleaner. Winners will be chosen at random and will be contacted by BISSELL.
UPDATE: Congratulations to the winner Mandy Davidson!

My only tip is to do a little bit of cleaning (outside the usual) every day to keep it all manageable…we have a new and large to us house with 4 small kids so I am ALWAYS cleaning so it doesn't become a total disaster!
Linda says
I use my shop vac to clean my filters. It does a terrific job. A repairman told me this will greatly increase the life of a vacuum
CA Sowell says
I've heard that having a vacuum cleaner designated for each level in your house actually encourages the frequency you vacuum. That is a good thing.

I have a huge get together planned as well as a dinner party both in May. Cleaning is always a struggle for me so a new Bissell would be a dream. Thanks for the giveaway. Jo @ Let's Face the Music

We were just commenting here at our house that out super expensive vacuum that we bought 8 years ago does not work very well at all! We are in the market for a new one. We are going to be selling our house soon and you know when you are selling your house it has to be spic and span clean! Would love a chance to win. Thank you.

My cleaning tip is to keep clutter to a minimum. A tidy house always looks cleaner and easier to keep clean.
ccjach says
My tip is to ask your teenagers to help vacuum! I find that kids are so busy lately with all the activities and homework, parents don't have their kids doing a lot of the chores we all did when we were young. 🙂
Kim Gibson says
My cleaning tip is to have one vacuum cleaner upstairs and a second one downstairs if you live in a multi-level house. This will save your back and encourage you to vacuum more often. I, unfortunately, have been lugging my heavy vacuum cleaner up and down the stairs, so I would love to win a BISSELL!
KR says
I always like to clean my windows in the Spring!

Jill Jones says
Wow, thanks for the tip off on the new vacuum. I have a Bissell steam mop and it has been great. I could use a new vacuum cleaner to do my spring cleaning as my current vacuum is about 30 years old! Just think what I could clean with a brand new Bissell vacuum cleaner? I would go hog wild cleaning everything in sight 🙂
Peggy Allegretto says
Not just for spring, but for every season, I like to flip the cushions on my couch and use the crevice tool to get in all the nooks and crannies, and then the brush attachment to vacuum the fabric really well!!
Pats, hugs and kisses to little, sweet Reagan!!
tinab158 says
I need a new vacuum…not because my current one is broken, it's just a pain to use. I have a Dyson ($$), but the hose is so tight…you can't use the wand without a second person to hold the vacuum in place while the user stretches the hose out and vacuums. This Bissell looks like it would fit the bill perfectly. 🙂
amanda says
My cleaning tip is to eliminate your carpets! I was so disgusted when we ripped ours up and saw all the crud that disappears under there. YUCK! We are in the midst of a huge remodel and a new vaccum would be put to excellent use. So much construction dust and debris.
Debbie S says
Keep clutter to a minimum. It makes the rest of the cleaning easier if you don't have to pick up or shift a bunch of knick knacks around. Thanks for the chance to win! I have been looking at vacuum cleaners for a couple of months ….

I'm not prepared! My beast of a vacuum with the hose attachment broke the other day. I haven't replaced it yet $$ and have been using my battery little guy. I would be thrilled to win!

I just discovered the power of toothpaste on marble. I have marble counters in my bathroom and there was a rust mark from a free standing towel holder. It would not come up! Rubbed it with toothpaste and voilà – stain is gone!
I would love a new vacuum. Mine has been making strange noises lately.

I have a Bissell rug cleaner and love it. This looks like a nice vacuum. A salesman once told me that the trick to getting the dirt out of your carpet was to move the vacuum slowly especially when pulling it back toward you.

I have an older, bigger Bissell that I really like, so a new, smaller one would be great! With 3 kids and a long-haired dog, I have to vacuum almost daily!

My tip is to make your kids do all the cleaning. lolol What? It's teaching them life skills. 😀
Rita K Ness says
Wow! I could certainly use another vacuum to have upstairs in my home which is all wall to wall carpeting, rather than lugging my present vacuum up and down stairs!
Marian says
Our 20 year old vacuum is held together with duct tape! It still sorta kinda works but definitely not as well as a new one would. We are concerned about spending money on a super expensive model that doesn't hold up to its claims but also that something less expensive will break immediately. Bissell is trusted by many so even I'm not a lucky winner this new vacuum is something we should look into!
Kari says
I have three boys under the age of five, so every cleaning ends up being a heavy cleaning because they get everything so dirty! I NEED this! I have the Bissell sweeper and love it! I'd love to give this a try 🙂

Windows and mirrors always seemed so hard until I started using my car window wash solution. This cuts through dirt and grim in no time and leaves the glass so clean. I also helps repel dust dirt and rain on the windows. Love this stuff.

My cleaning tip is to remember to dust before you vacuum! I know that sounds obvious, but it is really important to pick all of that dust up immediately after you knock it down, it truly improves the air quality. The new Bissell looks amazing!

This mom of 3 needs a reliable vacuum! 🙂 After 15 years of marriage, we were ready for our 3Rd vacuum and without much research I picked one up spontaneously. It was a dud. I am still searching for a quality machine that can stand up to crayons, play dough, crumbs, and hair from our 15 year old Weimaraner. Thanks for the chance!
