We are back from an amazing week in La Quinta, CA. There’s nothing like a week away from home in an incredibly beautiful environment to hit the reset button! Even though we are back in North Carolina, I’m still dreaming of palm trees and all things tropical. One of the first people who comes to mind when I think of tropical decor is India Hicks. Easy, breezy, light & airy. Is it possible to smell the ocean breeze by looking at a picture? I’m thinking yes. The home below, located in the Bahamas (Hibiscus Hill) remains one of my favorites. There are so many great takeaways – let’s take a look.
All white everything checks all my boxes.
Wide plank fir boards on the floor, white walls, and shutters. Mostly neutrals with pops of yummy color, hello coral! Palm branches always.
Pale blue/gray paint on the walls along with minimal accessories keeps the traditional dining table and chairs on the fresh side. Pineapples as decor are always a great idea for adding texture and pattern!
I love this chippy desk situated under a scenic window – looks like a perfect spot to daydream. Hello blue and white lamp, I love you.
Bird prints, patterned tile, and white walls are the takeaways here, but the cotton canopy on the
four-poster bed takes center stage.
This is one of my favorite little corners with its fish prints, stack of colorful beach towels, and interesting tablescape.
Art galleries collected over time and through travel are by far the most interesting. Love the combination of gilded frames.
Collections are best when together on display.
Why not move the dining furniture outside on a pretty afternoon?
A comfy outdoor space is a must.

This has always been one of my all time favourite homes, when we lived in Florida I loved taking as much inspiration from it as I could for our own home. It's harder now we live in France, but I still love the fresh style and still keep some parts of our home like this, it's a true classic, calm, peaceful, clean but with personality.
