During the holidays, we decided to pull the trigger on purchasing a new rug for the family room. We wanted our new rug to be soft, hide traffic patterns, and have some sort of pattern or color ( we had a neutral jute rug before). We finally agreed on this one and so far so good. It checked all the boxes and I really like the bit of color it adds to the room. The navy, aqua, and gray fit easily into our space and I really like the splash of yellow. I’m also happy to report that there hasn’t been any shedding which is often a problem with new rugs (you never know what you’re going to get when ordering online). The price was pretty hard to beat too.
Our family room and dining room are connected by an arched passage and both rooms are fully visible from the other. My goal, as I work to update the dining room, is to make sure both rooms flow and feel connected. The rug may end up in the dining room and I had this in mind when we made the purchase. If I do decide to go that route, I believe the pattern in the rug would be a nice addition to the dining room and a good jumping off point for the rest of the updates. I’m still very much in planning mode so stay tuned.

that rug is lovely, indeed, and I can see it in the dining room as well. The yellow is fresh and happy! a good thing in winter and in spring/summer.

Wow! I really love this! I am in the midst of re-doing my family room in tones of blue as the accent (previously had red) and I am sooo tempted by this rug! Right now I still have the seagrass and no plans to change it…. yet:)
