The front and closet doors swing into the space which limits our lighting options to a flush mount. And you know how difficult it can be to find a pretty flush mount. We wanted something classic enough to stand the test of time, but fresh enough to feel “us”. We also wanted the lighting we choose to brighten the space even when it wasn’t on – unlike our previous one. I found this Robert Abbey semi-flush mount at Candelabra and knew in an instant it was the one. As a side note, Candelabra has a great selection of all sorts of lighting, furniture and home decor so check them out if you are on the hunt for just the thing.
I love how our new light brightens the entry even during the day when it isn’t on. It’s the perfect light for our space. Crown moulding is in the plan so try not to look too closely at the old original moulding.
I also love how the black trim detail plays along with our glossy black front door and stair runner adding just enough contrast without being too much.

Beautiful! Flush mounts can be uninspiring most of the time. Clearly that's not the case here. Love the trim detail!

I was just browsing the Candelabra site yesterday! They have a great selection. Love your entryway light. I adore the scalloped edge.

Rene- your entry is just so classy. Hey – Ive always wondered. Are those Ballard indoor outdoor rugs at all slippery as a runner? I think they are such a great solution but worry about the slippage
René says
Thank you Bethany! Our runner is not slippery at all and we run up and down in bare feet, socks, & shoes. It was a great low cost option for us. Hope this helps.

Love the light- but pretty obsessed with the big mirror! So classy. Great way to brighten and enlarge a small entry!

Oh yes, great choice! I love the shape and how light it is, but it does add a nice bit of personality to your space!

Rene, I love the paint color you have going up the stairs. Would you mind telling me what color it is?
Thank you!

Thank you! It is white dove, Benjamin Moore.

Rene–I think I'm about to pull the trigger on the same light for our living room. It's so dark in there because of the attached screened porch. Looks perfect in your entry 🙂
