A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon the portfolio of Kelly Nutt, a talented designer in Newport Beach, CA. Her work is traditional yet current with that edited approach that I love. One of my favorite projects is Seashore Residence which features a timeless oceanfront home with splashes of ocean inspired colors, stripes, and lots of shiplap.
What do I love about this? The contrasting island, the tongue and groove ceiling, the layered roman shades, and the hardwood floors.
Banquettes are always a good idea. I really like how the seat cushion and throw pillows are of the blue and white ikat.
The wall mount faucet is a stunner!
Stripe stair runner & shiplap – check!
Can you imagine enjoying your morning coffee to this view?! The colors within the home are a continuation of the ocean view blending the two harmoniously.
Fuchsia boho pillows, come to mama!
This combination of stripes works beautifully together. To see the entire portfolio, go here.

I agree – Kelly Nutt has a great portfolio of homes!! If only I had a spare $10+ million in the bank to buy one of these oceanfront homes, HA

These are stunning images. I especially love the kitchen and first bedroom. What's your thought on outside mounted roman shades? I would have never given them a second thought until viewing these images. They seem to make more of a statement (and maybe soften the room), but do you give up the structure of the molding and clean lines?
