Liven things up with bold color, geometrics, and a solid pillow in a vibrant color. Love the trim detail on the lampshade too! The white ground in the patterned pillows is key! Any other color might look too murky.

Here is another example of a floral on a white ground paired with a vibrant geometric. The blue tones balance out the warm golds and leather and again, the white ground is key on the floral pillow.
Blue and white pillows and a creamy throw lighten these leather chairs.
Notice how everything is monochromatic with the exception of the turquoise accent color which balances out the warm tones.
The above sofa is anything but stodgy with this colorful mix of pillows in blues and reds.
Great post Rene. I just worked on a design that involved leather couches and ended up using light blue/chambray pillows with touches of green! It lightened the sofa up and gave it a new look!
That sounds pretty Fran!
Fantastic examples
Great post! The only thing I hate about pillows on a leather sofa is that they always slide around:)
You are so right Sherry!
