This is my main page with all of my boards. I can already see a theme. White with hints of blues and pinks.
My kitchen board is mostly white with hints of color as well.
And again in the bathroom, white with neutral patterns and of course flowers.
My bedroom pinboard is pretty much the same as all of the above. I tell clients to take a look at rooms they pin and decide what it is they love about those rooms. Together we identify an overall theme such as wall color or accent colors and go from there. Maybe I should start taking my own advice.
Can you see a pattern in what you pin? Have you taken a “second” look at your pinterest boards lately?

Is is too funny!
I was just on Pinterest and I was thinking the same thing.
I need to tidy up my pins.

I completely agree! Although it's the same with things I've done in my own house as well. I was just into a totally different style when this all first started. I always laugh when I go search my boards for inspiration and usually just quit before I get to the end because the bottom is all so different from my taste now!

I'm so glad that Pinterest alerts you when you are about to pin something twice now. I have so many duplicates from the previous years. And yes, my style has definitely evolved. 🙂

One new thing about Pinterest I really hate is the new Picked for You feature. I have certain people I want to follow for a reason and my feed is almost half full of the "Picked for you" posts. I even contacted them to ask if I could turn and it off and they said you could not. It's very annoying and I find that I don't use Pinterest as much as I used to.

That's a great point Sara! I've noticed the same thing and it really clogs up the feed. Hopefully they will make this optional in the future?

Sara, I just noticed that you can hide those pins and at least narrow down the amount/type you are receiving. Hope this helps.

You can hide them but everytime you refresh there are just as many more. Around Christmastime I was looking at Christmas pins and now I am still getting all these picked for you Christmas pins. I do hope it will be optional in the future. I used to love Pinterest before. I can't believe you can't opt out of it.

I have to agree with you guys- the "picked for you" pins are really off putting, and in my personal opinion/feed they are way off-kilter with the kind of content I like to pin. I can spot a "picked for you" before I even see it in the description because it's so misplaced in my feed. I am a professional social media manager for a pretty big brand. I've spoken to my account team at Pinterest about this because I believe it is turning people away from their platform and really cluttering up the experience. We follow who we follow because we like to follow them. Discovery should be an integral part of the experience (otherwise you may not know what great feeds to follow), but it should be handled differently and their algorithm for choosing the pins it "thinks" we'll like needs better tuning for sure.

Mary-Irene, You hit the nail on the head when you said, "I can spot a picked for you pin". I can totally spot those pins because I think to myself, now who would pin this? Then I realize what it is. Hopefully this feature will be fine tuned so that it is more useful.
