Our kitchen re-fresh is just about finished. We’ve addressed our ugly soffit issue and are liking the results. Can’t wait to share pictures with you! As if the soffit isn’t enough of an eye-sore, we also are dealing with an ugly heat vent in that same area. We’ve looked around town and on-line for a pretty vent cover, because after all, prettier is better, right? I realize this is like gilding a stink bug, but rerouting the HVAC at this point seems a little too much. I’ve also rounded up a few images that I find very inspiring. Isn’t it nice when the necessary parts of a home add to the overall design?
Mr. and I haven’t been able to find exactly what we want and are willing to pay for, so we are planning a little DIY project that I’ve had on my to-do list for a couple of years now. All of the parts are ordered and we just need to carve out a window of time in between sporting events this weekend to make it happen. Stay tuned.

This is something we need to do because right now we have a pretty plain, yet very old, register in our entryway. It's an eyesore 🙁

If you could find one to fit your opening it would add a decorative element. Good luck!

Can you tell me what the paint colour is in your hallway? and the trim colour? Please?? Love those registers!!

That isn't my hallway (see link above). Looks like the wall color could be BM Carrington Beige or Manchester Tan? Hope this helps.

You may want to look at Van Dykes Restoration Hardware. We ordered a beautiful louvered cover and love it. No more ugly!

Thank you! Yes, they have the same registers as Reggio. All very pretty options!

Those are some PRETTY heat registers! Love the intricate detail. Can't wait to see what you come up with!! By the way, SignatureHardware.com looks to be a good source for registers of various styles and sizes for floors and walls. Just found them and am going to see what they have in oversized floor registers. Our old house has unusually sized registers, among other things!

THanks Claudia! Old houses can be challenging, but worth the effort.
