This antique display cabinet is the perfect addition to this bathroom! I love the contrast it adds to the marbled surfaces and the warmth of the wood helps to balance out the cool tones of the room all while providing beautiful storage.
I realize wood tones in the kitchen aren’t for everyone, but how pretty is this? The white apron sink and painted cabinets helps to keep it fresh and current.
How about this idea – use and old barrister bookcase for shoe storage. They actually built it into the wall, but it would be just as effective if left free standing.
We’ve all seen this idea and I’ve always wanted to try it. Treat the surface of the dresser with a marine grade finish to protect from water.
I love how this antique armoire was incorporated into the wall of built-ins. The warm wood tone breaks up the what would otherwise be a wall of putty.
How about you? Have you found a new way to use an antique?
The contrast of a warm wood antique in a room of crisp white walls always makes my heart skip a beat, pretty examples!
I'm with you on this. layering is key along with creativity. Great photos for this post!

I love the first photo, the second photo reminds me of something joanna gaines would do and that last photo is so interesting. I've never seen an antique incorporated in a wall of built ins like that. V. cool. This post is giving me ideas! 🙂
Great ideas, I love to repurpose an antique and make it fresh for today. I am using a Hoosier cabinet as a desk. Works out great.
Such pretty examples of antiques working in a different way. I love the bathroom piece and the kitchen piece.

oh gosh I love these ideas!!
The 2nd picture (of the apron sink with the wood toned cabinets) had me "drooling"! I would love to have that look! And, I agree that collected pieces with sentimental value mixed in with other decor really adds interest and depth to the design.

I love all of these! Such a cool idea to incorporate antiques in a custom way.
OMG….how they built the armoire right into the wall is soooooo good!
Can you please provide any info on the unusual light fixture to the right of the apron front sink??
Here's the link to the sink & entire kitchen at Trendsideas.com – love it! http://trendsideas.com/articles/7759155931407111001/photos/3709937581407108146
