Using this tutorial, I made the “congrats” banner out of tissue paper and letters found in the scrap book section at Michael’s.
I had pictures of our graduate enlarged at Staples and hung them on the deck. I got the idea from Annie. This was the easiest process too. The prints were ordered online and available for pickup the very next day for less than $5!
To add a personal touch, I left a stack of cards & envelopes for friends and family to write a favorite memory or bit of advice to T. He is already enjoying reading them.
To add a festive touch, I hung paper balls under the patio umbrella. They are from the Martha Stewart party line found at Michael’s.
I wasn’t sure if the teenagers would go for this or not, but I placed a few photo props from this etsy store around the party. As a side note, these two have been friends since 2nd grade and will go their separate ways come fall. I feel certain they will always be friends though.
Not sure who enjoyed the photo booth props more… said as the grandmothers help Mr. get a quick pic!
World Cup soccer has taken over at our house and the teenagers decided to pile into the living room to watch the game which was more than alright. After a week of back to back grad parties, they seemed happy to just “be” for a little while.
Meanwhile, the real party animals congregated outside.
This party could not have happened without these two wonderful ladies! Thanks again Mom & Maggie! And while I do not have pictures of the food, I can share the menu.
The floating party was held from 6-8 so I wanted to offer heavy hors d’oeurvres in case this was dinner for the attendees.
Most of my friends admitted that they came so they could meet the grandparents. Before she left, a good friend of mine told Mom and me that she hopes to have the relationship that Mom and I share when she and her daughter are our ages. Love you Mom!
Here we are with our graduate and his sweet brother (he’s next, yikes!). What a wonderful weekend! #proudmom

What a wonderful party and such a special celebration for your son! Your food looks delicious. Such a fun idea to write a favorite memory or bit of advice and those black and white prints are wonderful of Tyler. Congratulations to Tyler and to you mom and dad! Good job! Rene! I love the photo of you and your mom (you are both beautiful women) and what a sweet compliment your friend gave you. Moms are the best and those special relationships are to be treasured.

Thank you sweet Allison!

Congratulations to Tyler and to his proud mom! He is lucky to have family and friends who celebrates his achievements. That picture of the kids watching the game is hilarious. The girls are all chatting and the boys have their eyes glued to the tv. Some things never change! 🙂

Thanks Camille! You are right…even though some of those girls are soccer/basketball players :).

Thanks Lisa! I was worried that it would not be large enough for everyone, but it worked :).

I agree with Lisa…looks like a great time and your backyard is beautiful! I am sure it is going to be weird having just one child around:)

Oh what a lovely party! The pics of your son side-by-side from baby to grad made me sigh. My son is 1 and I know one day, God willing, he will grow up to be a young man. Lump in my throat!

These are exciting times for our kids, so all the best to Tyler for "the next phase" and as well to you and your husband as you adjust to the changes at your house. This looks like such a beautiful and fun party! I love all the thoughtful ideas you used – his pictures, the school colors, and the note cards. It looks like he has a great group of friends and we already know he has a great family! Enjoy the summer with him before he heads off!

Everything looks beautiful Rene! Congratulations on Tyler's graduation. A new chapter….and a quieter house. Since we both have a family of four, I can say that 25% less is huge. Exciting times ahead! Thanks for linking the Staples engineer prints!
