Continuing with the re-cap of Italy, today I’m sharing snippets from Murano & Burano, lovely little gems indeed. Both islands are just a hop skip and a boat ride away from Venice.
If a ride on a speed boat in Italy doesn’t get a teenager excited, then nothing will! Our first boat had a swank red interior which made the trip even more fun, ha!
Our tour guide, Nadia, had us all stand up at the end of the boat for a quick pic. Fun!
The first stop of the day was at the Murano Glass Factory, in…you guessed it, Murano. We could have stayed there all day! Watching these guys work with glass was truly amazing! Glass blowing is a skill that is passed down from generations. Only a few become master glass blowers. Here, they are making a custom chandelier using 14K gold.

gorgeous, and loved knowing the reason behind the brightly colored home. i've shared some pics from my paris trip 2 weeks ago. those bright green little tree plants (i'm sure there's a real name) don't you find them brighter than at home?! or was that just me with the ones i saw? wish i could have brought them home.
I completely agree that the green appeared greener! Those little plants are cypress (I believe) and I loved how they were mixed with alternating greens. Will definitely remember this for fall window boxes!
Love reading about your trip!
Thank you Doreen!
Loved this – keep them coming. I noticed the orange house #266 has a cool carved lion next to the door frame. I'm going to try to find that house when I go!
Oh I'm sure you'll find it. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip when you go.
Looks like a great trip! And all of those beautiful colors are so inspiring:) I need to get to Italy one day!
I think of you as a world traveler Sherry. You must go to Italy! 🙂
You are adorable. That trench is almost as cute as you and I must have it, where from?
Love your blog!
Thank you so much Christy! It is old Gap from years ago. (I need a new one). I'll post a packing/outfits post soon.
