The outdoor season is in full swing and now is the time to focus on making the most of our outdoor rooms. We are enjoying our recently improved space and only have a few details left to do. I’m also helping a client add a little more privacy to her deck/porch. While privacy isn’t a must, it certainly helps to make a space more relaxing and intimate making us want to linger just a little longer. Adding an extra detail or two can serve as a nice noise barrier as well (for you or your neighbor).
Shelves, palms, and curtains work together to create a beautiful and private outdoor space in the image above.
When you can’t plant a permanent tree or a vine, how about a series of containers to create a wall?

i love all of those spaces but i cant help but think how easy and genius putting those louvered doors up for privacy would be in my own space/deck. hmmm, must get to thinkin!

I love the idea of a pergola. My husband and I were just talking about 'changes' we'd like to do in 3 years or so to our outdoor space. Love your inspiration pics, Rene!

Love the idea of the shutters. We might need to try that as we certainly need some privacy from our lovely neighbors.

I love the look of draperies on a porch. I want to try it myself but I'm afraid it will just be a place for bugs to hide.

Pergolas and living "walls" feel like a great way to give privacy to an open space. Love the inspiration pics you shared!
