The last few days have been downright dreamy here in Greensboro! Mr. and I are scheming about ways to jazz up our outdoor spaces and cannot wait to get started. Even though it will be few weeks before our schedule allows us to work on our own home, I’ve been pulling together things that I want to include in our outdoor spruce up when the time comes.
I really want to try a DIY outdoor curtain project for our deck space. I’ll probably use drop cloth and keep it really simple.
I’m dreaming of a white pergola and lanterns. We might even add a pair of shutters (from storage) to the window on the deck for more contrast.
Our deck is in sad shape so we’re thinking about using this on it to clean it up and give it new life. I think gray decking would look nice and crisp with the white pergola.
I also want to add a few more string lights around our deck/patio area. Two summers ago we lined our pergola with them and love the ambient glow. Now for a few more.

A pergola and lanterns would be downright perfect!

We had a pergola at our last home and I LOVED it, such a fun addition to your outdoor space! And I am jealous that your weather has been dreamy, it is still in the 30's-40's in Madison 🙁

Oh no! Sorry to hear about the weather over there Cathy! Yes, painting our pergola will not be fun, but I can't wait to see it white.

Aw…thank you Doré. My pergola is the one in the first image. We had it built several years ago and have really enjoyed it. Each year I've thought about painting it white and have decided this will be the year :). I'll be sure to post after pics.

Oh I love that porch and the striped rug. Stunning.

I can't wait to see what you do. I love eating on our patio but it looks nothing like yours – it needs a massive overhaul!

One of my very first posts was a "$10 Patio Curtain" that I made with a drop cloth. It turned out great and held up really well, until the squirrels decided to use it for bedding material. Ha! I ended up making a new one the next year and so far so good in the animal department. 🙂
