I’m excited to share a new book with you that was written by a dear friend of mine. Wise Craft: Turning Thrift Store Finds, Fabric Scraps, and Natural Objects into Stuff You Love, written by Blair Stocker is a book for creative souls who love for their home to reflect their personal style.
To back track, Blair and I met in college, instantly became friends and began our early careers together in the apparel industry. New opportunities led Blair and her husband to Seattle, WA where I have visited a couple of times and have seen first hand the lovely home she and Peter have created for their family of four. In 2005 Blair began writing one of the first blogs I ever read, Wise Craft and she has developed a loyal following. She is such an inspiration when it comes to handmade items and DIY projects! Blair’s work has been featured in Parents Magazine, Better Homes and Gardens, Ladies’ Home Journal, and more. I’m truly honored to call her friend!
Wise Craft includes 60 projects which are seasonally categorized and will definitely spark your creativity and motivate you to make stuff! Blair’s writing style is so easy to read, like a friend who is there talking to you and her tutorials are simple to follow. Many of the projects use thrift store finds or household items that you may already have on hand. While my never ending to-do list is quite full, a couple of projects inspired by Blair’s book have quickly moved to the top of my list. If you are looking for inspiration, I urge you to check out Wise Craft. You will be glad you did.
