Over the weekend we cut a few branches to place around the house and now we have cherry blossoms in several rooms. I love it!
I shared a picture on instagram yesterday and it occurred to me that I haven’t shown you pictures of our entryway since I painted it a couple months ago. Technically it isn’t finished, because I would like to find a demilune table to replace the little table you see here.
Maybe something like this….
The fact that demilune tables have no corners, would allow us to go with a table that is a wee bit wider than the one we are currently using. A table with two drawers would be so nice too! Plus I like that there is room below for a chunky basket.
I would also love to add a splash of color to our entry with a turkish rug. Something like this one….
For those who are interested, here are the paint colors used to make the stripes….
I used this tutorial for making the stripes extra crisp. Placing the tape on the wall took the longest (which really wasn’t that long). The doors are Chelsea Gray, SW and the banister is Black, BM. The umbrella stand came from Joss & Main a couple years ago and they just so happen to have one on sale now along with some fun umbrellas that I might have to purchase.
oh i love that rug! one day i will find one like it. 🙂 and love the cherry blossoms- so pretty!
Cherry blossoms are so pretty Rene (I love that you planted it when your son was born). The stripes makes your entryway more pronounced and I love your ideas of a demilune & rug. Did you paint the banister yourself? I need to look back to see if you have a post on it!! I need to paint mine!
Yes, I painted it. Sanded, primed (one coat), then painted two coats. It needs a touch up now, but BM paint is so good!
How beautiful! I love that you planted the tree when your son was born!
LOVE!!! Cherry blossoms are my favorite! I love that you planted a tree when your son was born, such a sweet reminder. And of course I'm in love with your entry as is and also the plans for it!
Oh, the sight of cherry blossoms on this very gray and rainy morning is a welcomed sight! And the cheery colors of that rug are pretty fantastic and spring-like too!
Love it! The stripes are terrific. Glad you didn't miss the cherry blossoms this year. We had some snow in DC yesterday, very weird.
It flurried here early yesterday too. Ready for warmer days :).
I have been walking around my neighborhood wanting to steal some of those branches!!! Your entry looks great….hope you score the table and rug of your dreams:)
as I look out at the 4 foot snow bank outside my door.. I am so jealous of the cherry blossoms!
Beautiful job on the stripes Rene! Your entry is beautiful and the cherry blossoms make me hopeful for Spring in our neck of the woods. Oh and that rug with those bright colors would look amazing!
Love your gray door…especially with the mail slot. Do you actually get your mail dropped thru there? The blossoms look so fresh and pretty!
Ha! Yes we do…and it still startles our dog after all these years.
How sweet to have a tree planted in honor of your son! And the blossoms… gorgeous! Love your look so far and the additional direction!
So so special about the tree. What a beautiful idea. And the blossoms are so gorgeous. Those stripes are just dreamy. Such a pretty entry, Rene.
I love that you planted the tree to honor your son when he was born. What a lovely idea. Your entry is beautiful Rene. Those blossoms are so pretty. Our neighbors tree hangs over the fence and we are enjoying their tree in bloom. I wish it would bloom all the time!
Those cherry blossoms look beautiful against those stripes. I have a demilune table in my front hall that I absolutely love – aren't they just so convenient?!
Yes they are, especially in a small/high traffic area. Hopefully I will find the right one.
The cherry blossoms are beautiful, and I love the idea of planting the tree in celebration of your son's birth! Your entry is equally beautiful. Although I painted our front door gray as well, I love the darker shade you chose even more!
i love your entry! so pretty with those blooming branches too! xo
