Happy hump day! How’s your week going? I’m trying hard to balance the work and personal life this week. I’m working on several fun client projects that have my wheels turning and hope to share more on those soon. Also, tonight I have the honor of hosting 18 amazing teenagers who qualified for the 4A high school state swimming/diving championship this Friday. Last night Mr. and I were trying to configure our dining room in a way so that all the kids could sit together. I think we’ve got it figured out now. Shew! We moved chairs, tables, stools around and came up with a plan.
As a result, our dining chairs ended up in the kitchen. They are rather wide and were taking up valuable real estate in the dining room. I know you don’t normally place arm chairs along the side of a table, but gosh I love them here! The chairs are so comfortable and make us want to linger longer. After all, this is where we spend most of our time. Who knows, maybe they’ll stay.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to run! Have a great day!

OMG….love those chairs in there! Ha…I can't even remember what was in there before but those with the black and white are so fresh and good!
René says
Sherry, if you like them here that is all I needed to know :).
Holly says
I agree with Sherry – also love those chairs. What a fun event!
Leanne says
I love this nook & think the chairs go great there!
I also love the print hanging on the wall. Where did you find that?
René says
Leanne,
Thank you! I found the chart at IKEA last fall. It was on sale for $5 believe it or not. Not sure if they still have them.
Leanne says
Thanks! I just love it!

It's always fun to mix up your furniture and get surprised when it works in a completely different room.

I am so in love with your kitchen seating! We have a built in bench as well, and I cannot decide on fabrics for it or pillows… this is such an inspiration!!
René says
Well, we have recovered the bench cushion several times over the years and this last time we used an outdoor fabric. It seems to be holding up better that the previous ones. Good luck!
My Notting Hill says
They look great there. Congrats to the swimmers!
Mandy Davidson says
I love it! And the cherry on top is that it makes everyone want to linger longer!

looks so comfy and cozy. Always lovely.

I love them there!
Sounds like we are living parallel lives! I am hosting 10 teenage girls on Saturday night for a sleepover because my girl was so distraught she missed a dance last weekend due to a out of town soccer tourney!
Good luck to your swimmers!
