I rarely have time to think about my house. You’ve probably noticed that I talk a good game of planning to do things, but truth be told, there just isn’t time. After spending the day planning colors, fabrics, and floor plans for others, I don’t have much juice left in the tank at the end of the day for major home improvements. However, my wheels are turning constantly! Do I sound like I am complaining? I’m not – thankful would be more like it. Just sometimes I wish there was more time to start and finish something in a reasonable amount of time.
All this to say, here is a little glimpse of things around here.
Sometimes changing pillows out makes me feel like I’ve accomplished something. I did a little pillow swapping last night and it felt so good!
I changed out a few pictures too and really like the results! This is from the latest Lulie Wallace calendar. This bathroom is giving me a time. The black walls have been great, but I’m feeling a change coming on. I’m thinking something a little more serene, like maybe sea salt or healing aloe. And, my fingers are crossed that square tile comes back into vogue before I take my out my sledge hammer.
The other day Mr. and I explored a new to us antique mall. I scored this little lovely. My blue and white collection is growing! Have you found any goodies lately?
P.S. Have you entered the giveaway?

looks so good! I've framed three of my Lulie Wallace calendar months so far! I just can't stop! I'm praying that square mauve tile comes back in style asap. I just love the black and white!
René says
If anyone can make square mauve come back in style, you can Julia! 🙂

The square tiles should be back soon, imo. No one has installed them in a decade or two, right? Today's twenty-somethings surely think they are cool – They are so very 70's – so I am guessing they are vintage, now.(fingers crossed for you!)
René says
These were installed in the 30's so…
I would like them better if they were staggered. At least they are black & white I suppose.

Ahhh the black tiles, yes I have a row of them against our white tiles so I am with you on "bring them back"…..LOL My walls are just white and in need to painting so not sure what other lighter color I want to use, want to be able to mix things up. I was almost thinking like a sea foam or mint greenish color.
Oh yeah and I LOVE pillows so you can do no wrong changing them around. 🙂 Have a blessed day! 🙂

I vote healing aloe, and 4×4" tiles are always stylish, especially in good condition and in black and white! Add your skilled touch and viola!
René says
You're sweet Cathy, thank you!

I love your black & white bathroom, Rene. I had a black & white tiled bathroom in my last house, and I painted the walls about 10 different colors before finally settling on black also…..which I found so neutral. So easy to change out the art and accessories isn't it? Your home is so pretty.
René says
So true Lisa – black is easy to work with. Thank you!

Your home is lovely and I'm considering a soft minty green for my office. With black & white! and maybe some gold. No shopping time lately – feel like I'm missing out!
René says
Sounds like a fun combo Kim! Thank you!

Adore your KUBU chair! What is your source?

I'm right there with you standing at the wishing well, debating square tiles' fate. My bathroom is sporting gold-flecked though. You're jealous, I know.
