Our son jokes that when we travel I take the entire medicine cabinet with me. Technically, I don’t take all of its contents, but there are a few things that I must take when traveling. Some of them are old favorites, but a few were discovered this spring/summer and have quickly become favorites.
Last Christmas, I mentioned to Santa that I would like to have a Clarisonic. He must have heard me because one appeared in my stocking. Do you use it? There are lots of cleanser options, but my favorite is the tried & true Cetaphil Cleanser. It cleans without drying. Period. I’ve been using Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate at bedtime for about a year now and love it! The fragrance is out of this world and I love how it makes my skin feel. I recently discovered Lancome Visionnaire and can already see a difference in pore size and texture. Also part of my night-time routine is a good lip balm. I really like the Kiehl’s lip balm in the pear fragrance, but couldn’t find an image (I think it’s new).
As far as make-up, last spring I discovered Benefit They’re Real Mascara. I cannot say enough great things about this product! I have tried many mascaras, but none of them lengthen the way this one does. By the way, I only use them on my top lashes ;). Another favorite is e.l.f. Studio blush. Who says that make-up has to be expensive? I’m currently using the Mellow Mauve shade and will definitely try more colors. I love bright lipsticks in the summer and was recently introduced to Just Dating (which is a hot pink) from the Sephora Collection. Talk about a fun color! My toes are usually hot pink in the summer too. Hopefully this isn’t too Zsa-Zsa, 🙂 :).

Great picks, Rene. I am so into this stuff, it's hard not to keep switching every month so I can try it all. One product I am sticking with the Clarisonic. It really works…and feels like a mini spa. Also, yes to hot pink in the summer!

I have a Clarisonic and love it. My regular beauty products tend to be of the anti-aging ilk, however. Dangit.

I got a Clarisonic for Mother's Day and don't think I'll ever be able to go back to not using it! And no matter what I try for moisturizer, I always go back to Cetaphil 🙂

I use Cetaphil too under make-up :).

I love that mascara as well. I have to try the Clarisonic! Why don't I have one of those??? Will it make me look like you? Then sign me up 🙂

I'm pretty sure your gorgeous face is on the box Lisa ;).

Hi Rene, I wanted to recommend that you try the Skin Medica line of skin products (to replace Lancome) and the SebaMed line of cleaners (to replace Cetaphil). Lancome and Cetaphil products are both tested on animals, or contain ingredients that are tested on animals. Skin Medica (available through a dermatologist) and SebaMed have made a cruelty free pledge and are GREAT products. There are so many great alternatives out there nos that do not require the use of animals for testing. I know a lot of people, myself included, LOVE Cetaphil, but I have found that SebaMed is even better, and I feel so much better about the choice I am making at the check out.

After years and years of trying all the makeups I have settled on Bare Minerals. Love what it does for my slightly blotchy, dry skin! The mineral powder and blush works wonders and never looks made up. And, I have found their mascara is terrific…
BTW: I had lunch today with a new friend who also swears by the keratin hair treatment (that's what it's called, right?). She has it every summer and said, yes, it's quite a time consuming process but SO worth it. Hmmm. I might have to try!

I go hot-cold with Bare Minerals. Sometimes I like it and sometimes it looks too heavy. I need a Bare Minerals expert. Yay for Keratin!

I agree and love my Clarisonic. I use a skin brightening cleanser that works well too. I'm not such a fan of the Benefit They're Real. I had problems with it transferring to the skin below the brow. Not a good look. 😀 I do like their Bad Gal mascara though.
Fun post. Thanks for sharing.
