Here she is. This area works because it is away from the lunch making station, away from the sink, and away from the stove & microwave. With 4 people scurrying around, it’s kind of nice to have things spread out so we aren’t all trying to get to the same tiny corner.
We’re also really enjoying having everything right here where we need it instead of tucked away in the pantry or cabinet. This really stream-lines our mornings.
We grind our beans every morning and I looked everywhere for a white metal canister. Sounds easy enough right? I finally found this Martha Stewart one at Macy’s. Actually you may have heard me.
So…if you have thoughts on a color for the sideboard, please share.
P.S. Have you entered the giveaway?
cute! a coffee station is a must in my house too! xo Kristin
Your coffee station looks straight out of a yummy bistro. Beautiful!
Why thank you Ashley!
I just LOVE it! It is a place we like most at our house, because I have four who love coffee and tea too! I have to say that I have become enamored of a warm tan color to go with cool soft gray. I even put those colors together in the design of my blog! There is something manly/masculine and classy about those colors together! I really enjoy your blog. Blessings!
Thanks so much Kelly! I like those colors together too! I'll have to check out your blog design. 🙂 🙂
Hi there! I think you should add a jar of cardamom. You can add a few pods to your tea, hot chocolate, or coffee when you want to spice them up. Cardamom is from the ginger family and has some health benefits. It would also had a neutral touch of green to your coffee station. Warning, nosy questions ahead: What kind of coffee maker is that? It looks really nice Does it keep your coffee hot? Where are the bamboo spoons from? I have been looking for a set of silverware but I am soooo picky that I have been waiting for 4+ years to get one I really like. 😛
Hi Khadija. I will look into that, thank you! The coffee maker is at least 10 years old, Starbucks Bistro, but they do not make them anymore. The carafe is thermal insulated which keeps the coffee fresh and hot for hours. The new ones on the market don't look as good to me unless we spend hundreds so I hope this one hangs in there a few more years. The spoons are from World Market. Hope this helps.
I figured the coffee maker looked too good to be true. They sure don't make them like they used to. I will check out the silverware. Thank you!
Love, love, love!! You are too good with colors. You'll figure it out, and it will look lovely!
I love you Mandy! 🙂
Thank you so much, now I think I need a coffee station! 🙂
You're so good I'm surprised you don't already have one Pam! XO
I love a good coffee station and yours is cute! What about a charcoal or chalky grey for the sideboard? I think the darker tone would bring out the brass hardware nicely.
Great thought Jen! I like it! Was thinking of maybe trying a chalk paint. Hmmm….
Annie Sloane's chalk paint in "Gray Linen" would look wonderful. I just finished a piece (end table) and it looks great with my cool, light gray walls.
i want to come over for coffee! it looks awesome! i can't wait to get my shelving up so i can work on creating a coffee area!
When you come over, bring your paint supplies. I'm sure you could fix that sideboard right up! 🙂
I love love love your coffee station! The rattan tray is so cute, and so is your coffee cannister! And I totally get wanting to have separate areas for lunch making, coffee-fixin' and whatnot. My kitchen is complete chaos on school mornings, with grumpy people bumping into each other, and separate work areas is a MUST for that someday kitchen renovation I keep talking about!
this is adorable! i love it! (now I want one!!)
What a great coffee station! Now I just wish I could pop on over for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate!
Looks so nice! for a color for the sideboard, I'd go with a yellow-bamboo color that picks up the colors in your tray and the rim of the bowls. Actually a faux bamboo finish might be really cool, or it could be too much. I'd take the upper cabinet to white or a much deeper gray than the wall, the color of the chalkboard. If a yellowy brown is totally out, then pick up the color of the lettering on the coffee tin, which is repeated in the bowls and go with that. If you paint the sideboard and the cabinets the same color, they will appear to be one piece of furniture and if they are different they will seem like two. Which may or may not be the impression you want to give. And finally, paint the knobs the same shiny stainless as the coffee accessories. They look like hard to replace recessed knobs so replacing may not be a viable option. If you are really committed, take them to an auto-body shop and get them chromed/plated. Its way cheaper than brand new hard to locate pulls from a pricy hardware restoration place.
