at least at this house. Do you remember the kitchen shelves we DIY’d a while back? At the time I wanted to try a more natural look and so I stained the shelves instead of painting them. Fast forward a few weeks and with the press of a button, they are now white. The stain wasn’t working for me. Maybe you’d like to see what I am talking about.
Here are the shelves we originally installed. I liked them OK, but after living with them a while I decided that I wanted fresh white ones.
Going with white made all the difference! Now it makes me want to sprinkle in a little color.
These shelves hold the dishes we use every day and the dish washer is located directly underneath. So, it makes the dishwasher unloader’s job really easy.
P.S. I’m still trying to track down a couple of things for the coffee bar so stay tuned.
P.S.S. This morning when I opened the blog, I realized that all my photos from yesterday’s post contained typos. Yikes! I know you all are a forgiving bunch. Let’s just say that spelling isn’t my strong suit until coffee enters the scene.

There's nothing wrong with changing your mind and the shelves look great (though, honestly, I liked them both before and after!).

Love the white, I still have to do something with my open cabinet right in the same spot yours is. Maybe total open shelves might work. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

It's a sickness as I am painting end tables from my LR white after first painting black….it never ends……

The white looks great! Crisp, clean and fresh. I didn't even notice your typos. I probably hadn't had my coffee yet! No worries Rene.

Just this week I was thinking of switching my white shelves in the kitchen for stained shelves. I would love butcher block counters and can't get them right now so this would be adding wood without the expense. Maybe I will save the work and keep them white now -lol.

Haha! Indecision. #iknowitwell

Oh the white looks so fresh! I love the pretty and functional storage of your everydayware.
(PS I was an English major once upon a time and I always find typos in my own posts. I think we all can go a little googly-eyed staring at these screens for hours on end!)

Oh dear…if you are an English major, you must cringe when you read my posts :):).
