Yesterday I shared updates for the ORC and promised a tutorial for adding trim to the bed skirt.
I’m a fan of grosgrain ribbon and use it on lamp shades, duvet covers, curtains, and gift cards. It is a super easy way to transform an off the shelf item into something fun. In this case, I wanted contrast to break up the white floor and white bed skirt.
To begin, I used the stitch line on the bed skirt as a guide for the ribbon placement and pinned the 1 1/2″ ribbon in place every 4 or so inches. On one end I didn’t have quite enough ribbon to reach the length so I made sure to hide it in the pleat fold as shown above.
I wrapped the ribbon around each end to give it a clean finish.
Not that anyone would be looking at the back of a bed skirt, but I did use white as the bobbin thread and black as the top thread to ensure that the thread matched the fabric accordingly.
This could easily be a no sew project if you do not have a sewing machine. On items that will be laundered, I prefer sewing over gluing or stitch witchery because it seems to hold up better.

Your son's room is looking so great, Rene. I love the black bed! Yesterday I was actually working on using Fabric Tac to glue ribbon to my bedskirt (still not done.) It's rare that I ever take off the bedskirt and wash it – is that gross? Maybe I should have figured out my sewing machine for this one!
