The other day I wore a jacket that I received for Christmas. It’s just a simple jacket, but what makes it special is a little pop of pink on the collar. As I went through the day, it made me realize how much that little touch of pink added to the jacket. Without it, the jacket would just be mediocre.
As it turns out, I’ve been secretly crushing on pink for a while. Wearing it instantly puts me in a good mood.
I love little touches of pink in interiors too…
especially in its palest form mixed with neutrals.
I’m also really digging pillows in solids lately and found this etsy store who offers linen pillows in lots of color and size options. I ordered a pair in another color, but isn’t this pink gorgeous?!
I do love a hot pink interior on a bookcase – especially when the rest of the room is fairly calm!
So tell me, how do you feel about pink? Yay or nay?

The new blog design looks lovely, simple and calm Rene. Did you do this yourself???!!! If so tips, share those tips! And the pink? Magnificent in the doses presrcribed! (love those Hunter boots in pink, how fun!)
René says
Well, truth be told, yes I did the design myself. But only if you think it looks good 🙂
Storywood Designs says
I love all your pink inspiration pics Rene… especially the Hunter boots (while not as practical, definitely more fun than my navy ones!). I love a pop of pink as well and don't use it as much as I should… in my clothing or my home.

love pink!

I have grown to love pink over the years! Not sure my husband would love it in an abundance of pink in our home, but I do have touches of it in things like vases etc. Nothing permanent 🙂

I painted the inside of Hannah's closet hot pink last January, much like that bookcase above….and I still love it (and so does she). Pairing it with crisp white trim balanced it I think. I can't believe how much it affects a mood…..even cleaning up in there is not so tedious because the room is SO cheerful with that big pop of pink!
René says
Yes! Fun inside a closet – love this idea Lisa!

I've always been a big fan of pink in my fashion and decor! I know lots of men aren't so crazy about it ~ luckily my boys don't say a word when I add a little dose!
René says
Pam, my boys love to wear pink. Maybe I should sneak a little into the decor?
Katie says
I am really hesitant about pink in any shade, on any surface. 🙂 Not sure why. But I'm pretty sure I could handle those pink wellies. Especially on a day like today. 🙂 Hope you are staying dry!
It hits me that I usually think of pink in its typical form (frilly, overly feminine, paired with purple, etc). But as I look at that first picture again, I honestly could see myself buying and wearing those pink boots because the girly color is very balanced out by the masculine colors of her outfit. So maybe I *could* handle some pink in my home as long as it is contrasted with more masculine colors and clean lines.
René says
I agree – pink can be a little too, to. When balanced with neutrals it works for me and the shade has to be just right.

It's one of those things that I have to be in just the right mood for, but that pink pillow is working for me…love it! May have to order a couple. You're so right about little pops of pink…really makes a big, fun statement.
Have a great day Rene! xo

LOVE pink. Our office and stores all have bright pink accents (ceilings in some, back of book cases in others) and BM pale pink on the walls (pink swirl).

Your stores are gorgeous Kayce! Here is a link in case anyone wants to have a peek!

um, well, I think with my name, you know how I feel about pink! 😉 Love all the photos. I prefer the hot pink tones, but a good, rosy vintage pink is always beautiful. You can't not be happy with pink around! Love those boots!!!! your new blog look is great too, BTW!

When I was younger, I hated pink, but it has grown on me over the years. When it's used as an accent, surrounded by neutrals, I think it looks smashing. I'm sure you've seen the photos of Ann Mashburn's living room. I adore the black fireplace, white walls and pink couch. It's somehow soothing and bold all at the same time.
Lisa says
Yay! Yay! I've always been a pink girl and have tried to add a few pops here and there. It appears a little bit in most of the rooms in my home.
Caroline says
Love, love, love pink!!! I am tempted by those bright pink Hunter boots! Take care, Caroline
Monica says
The pale pink with neutrals wonderful but I love the dreamy navy chair with large white dots!!

I'm probably going to be in the minority here, but I just can't learn to like pink. I see how a pale peachy pink looks so pretty and complements so many other colors but even when I was a little girl in love with Barbies I just couldn't embrace it. I would love for a client to ask me to decorate in pink though–that would be such a fun challenge!

That bookshelf….whoa mama. I know when spring rolls around we will all be ready for color!

Love your blog! I'm crushing on pink these days as well. If it rained in Silicon Valley, I would absolutely get those rain boots! I like the idea of painting the inside of a black lamp shade. Just posted a navy, white and pink office design palette on my blog last week that you might like. http://thirdandpatterson.blogspot.com/2013/01/palette-navy-white-and-fuchsia.html
