How was your weekend? We managed to cover a lot of ground – everything from the Seagrove potteries to art shows and parties. The weather was absolutely gorgeous which made it even better. Today the kids are out of school so technically it is still weekend.
I receive so many emails about our house colors so I thought it would be helpful to pull them all together for you.
Starting from the top, SW-sensible hue is the color of our dining room. It is a gray that has quite a bit of green in it. I really believe this color transitions well to the view of the evergreens in the garden.
Our living room is painted BM-white dove. White dove is a perfect white (in my opinion) because it has a good bit of warmth, but is still clean and fresh. This room receives early morning sun and then late afternoon sun from the dining room. I love how light and airy the room feels all day.
BM-gray owl is the color in our kitchen. This is quite possibly the most perfect gray! This neutral gray works with practically any other color.
The master bedroom is still work in progress. I have plans to paint the back of the built-ins another one of my favorite grays (SW-urbane bronze). The wall color in this room is SW-frosty white which is at the top of the same strip as sensible hue. Again it does have some green in it, but it reads really light gray. The cool(ish) undertones of the walls are balanced lots of golds and cremes.
We wanted my husband’s office to have a deeper, more manly feel about it so we went with SW-intellectual gray. I really like the feeling of the room – cozy & warm.
We recently painted the ceiling in my office Glidden-icy teal along with the campaigner chest. To keep the color from being too cool, I brought in lots of gold, blacks, browns, and natural textures. In case you are wondering, the walls are Glidden-white.
Last but not least (well technically it is least considering the size), our black bathroom. I have gone round and round with what to do in this tiny space. The vintage tile is in good shape so I decided to take the dramatic approach and paint it BM-black. The finish is semi-gloss which I recommend for an unventilated bathroom such as mine. I have used this black on our stair rail, the mirror in our front entry, as well as other random pieces of furniture. This is my favorite black!
I may be adding more to this post as rooms are updated or if I can provide better pictures to represent the colors. I hope you have found this helpful.

Do you mean bm gray owl?
René says
Yes – Gray Owl. I have made that mistake more times that I would like to admit. The colors are correct now. Thanks so much for bringing this to my attention. 🙂

Smart girl to put this all in one spot! All such pretty spaces, Rene. I am still gaga over that teel ceiling and beautifully painted dresser.

Love that color! Thanks for sharing!

Love your paint colors! But on another note, how is it having a rectangular table with your bench in the kitchen? We're toying with building one in ours, but worry about the kid (or adults) navigating the table legs as they scoot onto the built in bench. Is this an issue? I'd love to know your thoughts!!

Jen, this little spot is the hub of our home. The boys sit on the bench side and don't seem to mind navigating the table legs. The bonus is that they get to stretch out after they eat. Sort of like a therapy session. 🙂

I just painted two rooms with BM White Dove and yes, perfection!

Such pretty, soft colors. Can we talk for a second about the camelback loveseat in your husband's office? I love it and would love to hear more about it. Is it upholstered tweed?
René says
Ashley, the fabric a textured silk. How about I take a close-up and post it on instagram?

Where did you find the dining chairs in your kitchen?
René Zieg says
The ladder back chairs are vintage & came from P&P Chair Company. Hope this helps.
