And just like that, another sweet summer has come to an end. This morning my husband and I sent our boys off to 8th and 11th grade. I cannot believe I just said that. Sure the house will be cleaner and the kitchen less busy. But this momma misses her boys when they leave. I am so proud of the young men they are becoming and I am so excited about their future. Here’s to a great school year!
P.S. In case you are curious, I will be making 720 sandwiches before school is out next spring. Yikes!

Hope they both have a great school year! The summer flies by, but the beginning of the new school year is always kind of exciting and fresh too, isn't it? Not so much the lunch-making though. 720? Ugh! But – someday we will miss the crazy mad rush in the morning – maybe even the sandwich making!

They need to be making their own sandwiches! Don't do it all for them! Jk – I know how it goes. Some days I make them, some days they do.

So cute. I am not even going to do the math on how many sandwiches we will be making!

Aw, so bittersweet, isn't it? They are so handsome and look like they're so good to one another. I've been sensing that back-to-school feeling in the air, do you know what I mean? The lighting at the end of the day is different and even in the morning the air feels different. I know that probably sounds so strange – ha. And Target was PACKED this past weekend – I guess everyone doing their school shopping. Best wishes to your boys this school year.

You have two very handsome sons Rene. Nicely dressed, too. A big day for them to start back to school. My "littlest" nephew started 8th grade today. I can't believe it. Times goes by so quickly. Hope your boys had a great first day!

I'm one that's never anxious for them to head back to school. My big 8th grader (sniff) wore those same preppy faded red shorts the first day, too! Hope you all have a wonderful year!

What a sweet picture – it makes me smile! My oldest boy started 1st grade today and my youngest starts his last year of preschool next week. Your picture made me imagine them a few years from now. Hope your boys both had a great first day!

I remember my last day of high school. My mom excitedly commented "I'll never make another Turkey sandwich for the rest of my life!".
Your boys are so handsome. How great that they'll have one year of high school together!

I agree with Allison, nicely dressed with great taste in shoes! But that aside, I know you will miss your sweet boys during the day. Such handsome kiddos. Wishing them a great school year.

So handsome! I already feel like this time is going by so fast. Duncan just started kindergarten yesterday and Hart started second. Soon Becky will be there too–so hard to believe!
