Thank you for the sweet comments yesterday about the pictures of my family and me!!! Ya’ll sure know how to make an old lady feel good 🙂
Several weeks ago I planted the containers on our front porch as well as the window boxes on the front of our house and thought it was high time I share them with you.

Before anyone asks, because I know someone will, the vine is called clematis armandii. I live in zone 7, by the way. Anyway, all of our shrubs in the front yard are either evergreens or deciduous plants that bloom white. So, I decided to also plant the containers with green and white. I love how clean and simple it looks. The cast iron planters on the porch are holding white geraniums with shoots of grass in the center for height.

Here is a look to the left…

and the right.

A few weeks back I ordered this light from Joss & Main and love it!

In case any of you are curious about the window boxes, here are the contents. I had to force myself to go with an asymmetrical planting style instead of my usual.

I will post more pictures once everything grows.
Its truly beautiful. simple and oh so elegant.
would you please tell how you got the vine to go Over the door and window? what did you use to train it I mean. thanks so much
your exterior is what i dream mine looks like one day- the colors are just perfect!
Thank you friends!
Sonny, we used poultry nails (u-shaped nails) and hammered them into the mortar. At the top, we use wire to bundle it all together. When I say we, I mean my husband, ha! You might know how that works 😉
Hope this helps,
René
Rene as always I adore the front of your house. Oh so pretty!! And I love seeing what you do with your planters since we have the same ones (and my last house was white with black shutters and I had the same lights!! I feel so CHIC knowing that a fabulous designer such as yourself has this very combination 🙂 🙂
Your planters came out great – I will have to keep an eye out for that asparagus fern.
So clean, classic and refreshing. And I'm pretty sure asparagus ferns are some of my favorite non-flowering plants because they are just so delicate and airy.
How much do I love the color of your front door? Damn much…….and the green and white is the perfect combination to compliment it all.
So beautiful! I have great plans to add shutters & windowboxes to the front of my house. Love the way your house looks & that fixture is divine!
Oh everything looks so beautiful. I love all the white, stunning. Also, they really are super pics of you and the boys. Hugs, Marty

Your simple, classic style always looks stunning! Asymmetrical, ha! Don't think I could do it, but of course yours looks fabulous!
Everything looks lovely! Can't go wrong with geraniums! That clematis is amazing! Mine never looked like that.
Very pretty. I love that it is all white.

Love it! Especially your window boxes! And your new light looks great!
Rene,
Your porch is stunning! Sweet potato vine is hardy here on the Prairie, making it one of my favorite for our front porch!

Thank you for the sweet comments! They made me smile 🙂
I'm looking for a new front door. Can you tell me anything about yours?
Thanks!
Sarah, our house was built in the 1930's and this is the original door. I do not know the brand, sorry. It is solid wood. Maybe try a specialty hardware store for something similar. The big box stores sell doors made of composite & other materials. I hope this helps.
René
Rene, every picture is gorgeous. May I ask you what paint color was used on the front door?
Thank you Col! The color is BM, Stratton Blue.
René
Lovely facade…just perfect!!!
Rene, what is the color of your home? So pretty. BM Ballet Slippers?
I'm not exactly sure what color it is. We have it color matched to the siding that is on the back of our house. Here is a post about it. Hope this helps.
