Wood Planking on the Ceiling

It’s no secret that I love light & airy spaces.  And, we all know that texture in the form of textiles, mill work, and finishes is the key to ensuring that light and airy spaces aren’t too cold.  Lately I’ve been drawn to wood planking on ceilings for added warmth.  I’m especially fond of the washed oak in the first image below – it’s the perfect finishing touch in my opinion.  Rooms with vaulted ceilings almost call for special details like planking and beams, and let’s not forget upstairs/attic spaces.
